Climbing the beautiful hills and valleys surround by Eucalyptus, monsoon enriched plateaus; sultry slopes and gentle sea-breeze caressed Southern suburbs, Thurson Teas are a collection of teas picked from elevations between 2000 – 6200 feet, across the Ruhuna, Sabaragamuwa, Kandy, Uva, Dimbula and Nuwara Eliya regions of the island.

They are ranging from malty burgundy to warm amber and golden champagne, contrasting in aroma, flavor and color.

Nuwara Eliya

Grown at an elevation of 6200 feet above sea level, these high grown teas are the most fragrant of them all and come bearing the minty notes of Cypress and Eucalyptus trees on the mountains. These leaves effuse the lightest, smoothest and the most delicate of cups.

Dimbula

Grown at an elevation of between 4000 – 5500 feet above sea level, these high grown variety comes in a range of full-bodied to light and delicate teas. Some even bear a tinge of Jasmine and Cypress notes.

Uva

Grown at an elevation of between 3500 -5000 feet above sea level, the Uva plantations on the Eastern slopes of Sri Lanka produce teas that are mellow and smooth, and are distinctly aromatic.

Kandy

Grown at an elevation of between 2000-4000 feet above sea level, the Kandyan mid-country plantations, nurtured by the cool, dry weather, produce teas that are full-bodied and strong. When brewed, these teas produce a robust, coppery liquor.

Sabaragamuwa

Grown at an elevation of between sea level and approximately 2500 feet, and nurtured by the highest percentage of rainfall enjoyed by the country, these low grown teas are a golden brown with a reddish tint. Not quite strong as the Ruhuna teas, these bear a hint of caramel.

Ruhuna

Grown at an elevation between sea level and approximately 2000 feet in the Southern lowlands of Sri Lanka, Ruhuna teas are coppery red in colour, strong, thick and naturally sweet.
